Renault is celebrating a hat-trick of prizes at the Great British Fleet Awards, with victory for the New ZOE, All-New Clio and latest Trafic van. The New ZOE was awarded the prize for the ‘Best Green Fleet Car’, the All-New Clio came out on top as the ‘Best Fleet Supermini’ and the New Trafic took the accolade as the Great British Fleet Awards ‘Medium Van of the Year’.
The multi-award winning New ZOE features a more dynamic exterior giving it a sleek and modern appearance. This latest refresh continues inside the vehicle which benefits from a thorough redesign with premium materials and a 10-inch TFT instrument cluster as standard. A unique seat fabric that’s made from 100 per cent recycled materials including old plastic bottles and scrap seatbelts is also available on some models.
Commenting on the ZOE’s victory, Fleet World Editor Martyn Collins, said: “The New ZOE is our favourite because it improves on its already capable predecessor. Under the curvy bodywork, this electric Renault now gets a more powerful 52kWh battery equalling up to 245 miles range on the WLTP cycle, for the most powerful 110kW version. New ZOE is also easier to charge, plus is comfortable, practical and fun to drive.”
The All-New Clio, launched last year, sets new standards for quality, technology and practicality. The new interior features the latest convenience features including the option of a larger 9.3-inch EASY LINK infotainment screen and a ten-inch TFT instrument cluster, while soft touch plastics, satin finish metal trim and new, more enveloping seats help to give the cabin a premium feel. The new-generation E-TECH hybrid powertrain also delivers exceptional running costs with up to 40 per cent improvement in fuel consumption compared with a conventional internal-combustion petrol engine during the urban cycle and will join the range in the Spring 2020.
Commenting on the Clio’s award win, Martyn Collins said: “The latest Clio gets our attention with its stylish looks, plus the premium feel to the cabin. Then there’s new sophistication in the way this Renault drives too, with added insulation making for a refined drive. Efficient engine choices complete the package, with an incoming hybrid version to look forward to. All of this adds up to a supermini, that has plenty of end-user fleet appeal.”
The New Renault Trafic was awarded ‘Medium Van of the Year’. The improvements to the Trafic deliver lower emissions, improved fuel consumption and a reduction in service and maintenance costs. Increased equipment and a new exterior design rounded off what were significant updates for the popular Trafic model.
Explaining the Trafic’s latest victory, Van Fleet World editor Dan Gilkes said: “A familiar appearance hides a major update, with an improved driving experience and lower emissions, along with the potential for improved productivity.”
Reflecting on the trio of prize winners, Mark Dickens, Fleet Director at Renault UK, said: “We are extremely happy that the New ZOE, All-New Clio and latest Trafic have been recognised for their fleet appeal. The extremely competitive running costs, as well as refreshed exterior and interior design mean that all three are clearly the top picks within their respective classes. The New ZOE continues to be one of the best small electric cars available and the All-New Clio continues to be recognised for the for the fantastic job which has been done by our engineering and design teams. With the new BIK changes coming into play this April, both cars are a perfect financial choice for business drivers.
