Renault Clio proves itself again as an appealing vehicle to fleet and company car users after coming out on top of the ‘Supermini’ category at the Company Car Today CCT100 Awards.
After judging the Clio on a whole host of criteria — including emissions, running costs, price, performance and desirability— the judges were impressed with its generous specification and attractive running costs. “The latest Renault Clio triumphed in one of the most competitive sectors of the UK market thanks to its strengths in all the things that make a great company car”, said Company Car Today Editor Paul Barker. “It’s efficient, practical, has strong residual values and, with the new hybrid model, has a strong range of powertrain options, as well as looking smart, inside and out.”
Introduced in 2019, the fifth-generation Clio raised the bar in the small car sector, setting new standards for quality, technology and practicality. Priced from £15,895 on the road, it has a much more premium feel than its predecessor, which has resulted from the inclusion of features usually reserved for larger and more expensive cars and the use of higher quality materials in the interior. The addition of the E-TECH hybrid version has made the supermini even more appealing to business users.
Mark Dickens, Fleet Director, Renault UK, commented on the win: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to accept another award for the Clio as winner of the Supermini Class. The Clio is a perfect example of how our vehicles are suitable for business users, not only due to its sensible running costs and engaging driving experience but also due to its high-quality interior and exterior design.’
Alongside the diesel model, Clio buyers also have a choice of efficient TCe petrol engines with an EDC automatic option available too, alongside a new Hybrid powertrain boasting intelligent and advanced E-TECH technology to boost performance and economy, with the capability of travelling up to 80 per cent of urban journeys in zero-emissions electric mode. It’s available across all Clio trim levels; Play, Iconic, S Edition, R.S. Line and exclusive Launch Edition.
