From next season points will be allocated to the top 15 finishers in each round as opposed to the top 20 previously.
This means a revision to the points allocation which will be:
1st: 25; 2nd: 22; 3rd: 20; 4th: 18; 5th: 16; 6th: 13; 7th: 10; 8th: 8; 9th: 7; 10th: 6; 11th: 5; 12th: 4; 13th: 3; 14th: 2; 15th: 1.
In addition each driver will be permitted to drop his or her worst single score from between rounds one to 16. However no dropped scores will be permitted in the championship’s final 17th and 18th rounds.
As in the British Touring Car Championship, a bonus point will also now be awarded in each race to any driver who leads across the start-finish line.
The two bonus points for setting the race’s fastest lap time will continue to be awarded.The Masters Cup, for older drivers, will not continue.
Early bird registration fee available
Meanwhile an ‘early bird’ discount is on offer to those registering for the 2018 Renault UK Clio Cup by 31 January. This will be £15,850 + VAT. Registrations received thereafter will be charged at £16,650 + VAT.

New venue for 2018 Media Day
Prior to the start of the 2018 Renault UK Clio Cup, teams and drivers will be at Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire on Thursday 15 March for their annual pre-season Media Day event.
This will allow for filming/photography of and interviews with all the ‘runners and riders’ ahead of the opening two rounds of the new season at Brands Hatch, Kent (Sat 7-Sun 8 April.)
