Adam Wood has been appointed as the new Marketing Director for Groupe Renault UK and Ireland following a promotion from his previous role as Head of Marketing Communications. The move comes in his tenth year with Groupe Renault and signals a change in structure of the Marketing Department at Groupe Renault UK. The new structure will provide clearer ownership of the Groupe Renault brands whilst re-enforcing the collaborative nature of the team.

Adam succeeds James Boyer, who will continue his 26-year long career with Groupe Renault in the role of Deputy Chief Marketing Manager – Pick-Ups within the Groupe Renault Global LCV Division, based in Paris.

Adam Wood commented: “I’m delighted to become Marketing Director at such an exciting time for our brands. The Renault range has been transformed and, with our 100% electric vehicle line-up, Renault is in a strong position to capitalise on a changing market. Dacia is growing from strength to strength as we see our first loyal customers returning, and Alpine promises to be a compelling challenger in the premium sports sector. I look forward to the challenge of continuing to build our brands’ success.”

Vincent Tourette, Managing Director, Groupe Renault UK and Ireland, commented: “Adam’s track record within Groupe Renault speaks for itself; he has made key contributions in all of his roles here. His promotion to Marketing Director along with the re-structure of the marketing team, including additional head count roles, will strengthen an already extremely capable team and allow us to focus on our business targets for the years to come.”

Adam joined Groupe Renault in 2007 after completing a BA in French at Bristol University and MA in International Business at Nottingham University. Combining his love of cars, French culture and his strong business acumen, Adam has worked across the roster of Groupe Renault brands – from Graduate to Market Analytics Manager, Product Manager for Clio and Renault Sport, Dacia Brand Manager, Corporate Planning Manager and finally into his previous role as Head of Marketing Communications.

The other changes in the Groupe Renault UK Marketing Department include a clearer definition of the vehicle product teams. Chris White is the Deputy Marketing Director and Brand Manager for Renault Cars. Ed Preston is promoted to Head of Marketing Communications, taking over Adam Wood’s previous role. Ben Fletcher becomes Range Manager for Renault Z.E. (Zero Emission vehicles) and Steve Wilson becomes Range Manager for Renault Pro+ Commercial Vehicles. Louise O’Sullivan continues as Brand Manager for Dacia and Sophie Richard is Marketing Planning and Coordination Manager.
