Boulogne, October 13, 2017 – The Lumière festival, the global meeting-place for classic cinema, will be held in the Cinematographer's cradle, Lyon. 397 screenings of 177 films will be held in 60 emblematic spots throughout the Lyon Metropolis. To ferry the stars across town, Renault will again this year provide dazzling top-of-the-range models such as Talisman and Renault Espace.
No doubt the highlight of this ninth event, Chinese filmmaker Wong Kar-wai will receive the Lumière Award by the Institut Lumière for his extraordinarily beautiful films, following in the footsteps of Catherine Deneuve in 2016 and Martin Scorsese in 2015.
"On 14–22 October, Renault will again dazzle the city of the Lumière brothers with a range of elegant vehicles. Seven years ago, as a nod to great works of the past, restored films and other retrospectives, Renault naturally forged close links with the Lumière festival. The Group's DNA has been infused with Classic Cinema since 1898, when Renault's factories were next to the Lumière brothers' studio in Billancourt", Renault-Nissan Alliance Public Relations Director Claude Hugot explains.
Renault also partners the festivals at Cannes, Deauville, Angouleme, Alpe d’Huez and the César awards ceremony.
