Brett Lidsey (Northfleet) will become the latest driver to race in this year’s Renault UK Clio Cup when he makes his debut in the championship at its next rounds at Thruxton in Hampshire (Sat 6/Sun 7 May).

The new Renault UK Clio Cup Junior championship’s inaugural race season in 2017 will be shown on the recently re-branded Motorsport.tv television channel (previously known as Motors TV).

Registrations for the new Renault UK Clio Cup Junior championship will open next Monday 24 April.

Max Coates (Scorton) and Paul Rivett (Epsom Downs) shared the victories – albeit in unusual circumstances – in Donington Park’s two Renault UK Clio Cup rounds while, for the second meeting in a row, both new qualifying and race lap records were set on the championship’s new Michelin tyres.

With a tie at the top the Renault UK Clio Cup title race couldn’t be closer as it next heads to the famous Donington Park on the Derbyshire-Leicestershire border for its latest two rounds of 2017 (Easter Sunday, 16 April). It’s a circuit that has a knack for conjuring up some of the most exciting racing of the season.

Renault Sport Formula One Team endured a frustrating Heineken Chinese Grand Prix with Nico Hülkenberg finishing 12th and Jolyon Palmer finishing 13th after an eventful 56 lap race at the Shanghai International Circuit.

To illustrate that the 2017 season is well and truly underway, we now head to China for the start of the first back-to-back combination of races.

A race win and a second place apiece for Lee Pattison (Halifax) and Mike Bushell (Tunbridge Wells) in the Renault UK Clio Cup’s first races of 2017 at Brands Hatch means they are tying for the championship lead heading to the next rounds at Leicestershire’s Donington Park circuit in a fortnight’s time (Sat 15/Sun 16 April).

Renault e.dams leave Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the fourth round of the FIA Formula E championship, with mixed feelings. Nico Prost finished in the points but his teammate Buemi endured a tough race.
